Labeling requirements are enforced by the Food Safety and Quality Authority (FSQA) where labeling/marketing requirements are also available.  All importers must register with FSQA.  Importers must fill out import declaration forms, provide certificates of origin and furnish certificates issued by the food safety competent authority of the exporting country.  The FSQA also enforces restrictions on false advertisement.  Advertisement of tobacco and tobacco products has been legally banned in The Gambia since 2003.
