The e-commerce market in 2018 grew by 30 percent to UAH 163.4 billion. The online goods and services turnover reached UAH 65 billion, advertising in social media, marketplaces and other online resources accounted for UAH 95 billion. The delivery operators earned UAH 2.6 billion while online payments reached UAH 0.8 billion. In 2019, the e-commerce is forecasted to grow minimum 25%.

Most often Ukrainians buy online clothes, shoes, and accessories, goods for daily use, electronics and appliances, home and garden products, cosmetics and perfumery.
The top five sites for e-commerce and shopping in Ukraine:
  • OLX (40.4 percent of users)
  • Rozetka (32.5 percent of users)
  • Prom (26.5 percent of users)
As of January 1, 2019, Ukrainian banks had issued almost 59.4 million cards. At the same time, the number of active payment cards accounted for 62.2 percent of all payment cards and stood at 36.9 million at the beginning of 2019, up 6 percent from last year.

The number of cashless transactions in 2018 increased almost 33 percent from 2017, to 3.1 billion, totaling UAH 1,297 billion in volume, up 55.4 percent compared to 2017. Retail payments via POS accounted for 51.2 percent of the number of cashless payment card transactions in 2018.

In 2018, ApplePay and GooglePay services were launched in Ukraine making the country to rank fourth in the world by the number of cashless transactions – paying with phones, smartwatches, bracelets, etc.
