Brunei is in the midst of strenghtening its intellectual property rights (IPR) protection and enforcement by developing an IPR regulatory environment and improving public awareness, but more can be done towards active enforcement of existing IPR regulations including improvement of intellectual property training standards for the Royal Brunei Police Force and Brunei customs officials.  The Brunei intellectual property Office (BruIPO), established in 2013, is responsible for the registration of Patents, Trademarks, Industrial designs and Plant Varieities Protection (PVP).
