Company formation and registration in Botswana is relatively straightforward.  It cannot yet be submitted online, although the application forms can be found on its website: www.mti.gov.bw/businessregistration.  The country will however migrate from the manual to online registration on June 1 2019, and all registered companies will need to re-register.

All companies doing business in the country must register with the Registrar of Companies.  Registration typically takes two weeks; commonly an investor will engage a local attorney to assist.  A list of local attorneys who practice in this area can be obtained from the U.S. Embassy’s Consular Section (www.bw.usembassy.gov).
