They believe the two projects could transform the country into a central African hub for services because of its strategic position in the Gulf of Guinea.
Overview
STP has considerable potential as a tourist destination. STP has exceptionally beautiful landscapes, pristine beaches, many endemic bird species, a secure and tranquil atmosphere both in the cities and the countryside, interesting architecture, and a friendly population. Activities include diving, fishing, birding, hiking, and turtle and whale watching. CNN selected STP as a “Dream Destination for 2014.” There are a few Portuguese, South African, and other international luxury hotel chains located on the islands of STP.
